Enjoy the sights of Imatra, the traditional landscapes south of Highway 6 on gently rolling backroads, and the Lake Saimaa views to the north in more varied terrain. The full route is 76 kilometres long, fully paved, and includes a good number of dedicated cycling paths.
The route begins with a flat section along the Vuoksi River, passing Imatra’s most famous attraction, the Imatrankoski Rapids. South of Highway 6, the trail winds through cultural landscapes along undulating rural roads. As the route crosses to the north side of the highway, the elevation changes become more noticeable, and scenic views of Lake Saimaa appear from time to time.
